Woodside looks to the West …

It was wrong to suggest Woodside would play by the rules in relation to James Price Point. Those that signed up to their bribery ought to be ashamed. Woodside eyes Mozambique project

17 May 2013 – Woodside Petroleum Limited (ASX:WPL) is monitoring on an offshore gas field in Mozambique that is five times bigger than Browse …

This follows a renewed interest by Woodside in gas finds in the Mediterranean and Canada. Lets hope the Mozambique region fares better than West Australia has.

  1. I watched with interest while the James Price Point project was considered ,I envisaged a large wharf stretching out from the shore with some dredging, Huge ships coming and going,Good fishing ,A few pipelines coming onshore to a very large processing facility , A lot of jobs , A , Small town , Shops , Cheaper food etc,Clean drinking water,Electricity to burn . I have no illusions that many Aboriginal people will be included in the labour force but the spinoff’s will pay for Better schooling, which will position youth for local jobs as the region develops ,I live on the other side of the country and I’m retired but I for one was disappointed for the local people when plans were canned.

The local people celebrated when it was canned, including the Goolarabooloo mob who are custodians of Price’s Point. They have always been 100% against it. There are several better alternatives. It’s the Premier who wanted it here, as his ‘Legacy’, as Sir Charles Court has a Pilbara legacy.
