Happy Easter with bilbys…

Australia’s own Easter ‘Bunny’, the Greater Bilby inhabits the area around Broome. It is nocturnal, secretive, and under threat of predation from feral cats and foxes. I have been fortunate enough to see them in the wild in a remote area of the Dampier Peninsula.

Only a dedicated researcher and photographer is capable of even finding them, congratulations Damian:

The New Easter Bunny. Photographed recently10 kilometres from the town of Broome.
An elusive nocturnal animal – endangered – living under the threat of foxes, feral cats and development.
It appears the Kimberley Bilby is doing relatively well compared to the rest of Australia. Let’s keep it that way.
