unsettled activism … unsettled science

Now more apparent than ever, renewable energy has failed the ‘climate change’ activists. This compilation sets out so many items on this topic, it’s hard to single out any individual post, so they are all here: Weekly Climate and Energy News Roundup #151

A few posts are outstanding though, defying the Green ‘settled debate’ hypothesis:

Germany’s Coal Binge

Green energy mandates have achieved the opposite of their intent.

Epic Green fail:

The Crumbling Climate-Change Consensus

Extremists’ rhetoric heats up as their case falls apart.

Even better, the orthodoxy is questioned:

It is also frightening, since it is a clear sign that the Obama administration is about to go on the offensive, spewing nut job, eco-wacko policies for the next two years—call it revenge of the progressive climate nerds.

The Merchants of Smear

Guest opinion by Russell Cook | For about two decades we’ve been told the science behind human-caused global warming is settled, and to ignore skeptic scientists because they’ve been paid by industry to manufacture doubt about the issue. The truth, however, has every appearance of being exactly the opposite: A clumsy effort to manufacture doubt […]

[…] The main pillar of support for the notion that humans are causing a dangerous warming of the climate has been the notion of “settled science.” That notion has long been questioned by skeptic scientists. The secondary pillar of support for the alarmist global warming theory has been the notion that industry-corrupted skeptics are unworthy of public consideration. This accusation could easily have been investigated and refuted long ago. That never happened, because of the third pillar: Journalists should not give equal time to skeptic scientists.

We are overdue for the biggest ideology collapse in history, begging for an investigation into why the mainstream media and influential politicians apparently never checked the veracity of claims about “settled science” and “corrupt skeptics.”

  1. Thanks for including my Heartland Policy Brief in your update. More here on why any attempt by AGW’ers to portray my work as ‘Heartland-based propaganda’ will implode: http://gelbspanfiles.com/?p=2093

Turns out I fit the bill of your description of ‘environmentalist that believes in the scientific method, not climastrology”, please see http://gelbspanfiles.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/How_Green_I_Am.pdf

  2. Great article. I am old enough to remember the ‘global cooling’ crisis. Back then the solution was to find an Inuit in town who could help me out! Thank you! (I’m still laughing at the ‘Harry Reid’s brain’ crack!)
