News has it this morning that Gabby Hollows has been awarded an Order of Australia for her work in continuing her late husband’s gift of restoring sight to thousands of disadvantaged and the poor around un-developed countries.
I touched on the Fred Hollows Foundation last week, which is a charity I support strongly.
Restore sight and change lives each and every month.
In the developing world, 4 out of 5 people who are blind don’t need to be. They’re blind because they can’t afford routine surgery that costs as little as $25. The Fred Hollows Foundation has restored sight to over 1 million people, and we need your help to reach out to millions more.
Become a monthly supporter. Join the Miracle Club today and help us continue Fred’s work each and every month.
Hollows was named Australian of the Year in 1990 and was made an Officer of the Order of Australia the next year. The Hollows Foundation was established in 1992.
