I will be sitting on the edge of my seat on Monday, waiting for the sitting of Parliament, and question time.
I never, ever thought I would say that, it seems so stupid and boring. Ralph Blewett has just returned from 2 days of visits to the Melbourne Police, accompanied by his lawyers from Galbally Rolfe, discussing the AWU scandal. This audio recording is Ralph speaking to Michael Smith immediately after (at the first link).
Names not in the current list of Labor and Union heavies involved, are now in police hands, with new information that will be held close by police while inquiries are undertaken. Blewett wont fly back to Malaysia until Tuesday, so that he can see Gillard’s answers on the public record to Bishop’s relentless questioning. Ralph says he doesn’t see how Gillard can survive it.
Can’t wait. If you still don’t know what’s going on, check out the posts on Michael Smith’s blog, he had nearly 100,000 hits in just one day yesterday.
Catallaxy Files are watching the drama too: Selective amnesia or early dementia?
And then there were five. Bill Clinton, Alan Bond, Carmen Lawrence, Brian Burke and now Julia Gillard seem to have frequent and convenient memory lapses. While it is possible that the 51 year Gillard has early dementia, it is not likely. Selective memory seems a useful and common defence. It worked for Bill Clinton, why not for Julia Gillard?
