Peter Whytcross, leader of Convoy No 1 just passed the Broome turn-off at the Roebuck Plains Roadhouse. Peter tells me a large group of vehicles were with him when it left Port Hedland this morning, most supporting the convoy for the first few kms out before returning to work.
Flat tyres caused a couple of the trucks to stop along the way for repairs, and mandatory rest stops, only to catch up at Halls Creek, the overnight stop.
Xavier Dhalhuin from WIN News also met Peter there and interviewed us both, briefly. Xavier was also there to meet the Variety Club Bash vehicles which were passing the Roadhouse at the same time on their way to Broome.
